Naturally, everybody have heard already that physical conditioning is good for health. However, lots of us are confused about what kind of program is good for a man. There are so many different garbage systems and scams out there that it’s almost unbelievable.
I saw a commercial on TV last month featuring the latest fashion in abs sculpting and body toning systems. This product was probably the most ridiculous piece of shit I have ever seen. I thought I knew a lot of people that were uninformed and ignorant but how could they sell this crap for 150$? Guess what? A few days later, I saw a well-dressed couple discussing about buying it at Wall-Mart. What the fuck?
Let’s cut the crap right here!
Men should train in strength pushing barbells and dumbbells: the good old natural bodybuilding style of strength training, also known as weight lifting. That’s how it’s done! A man is made to be strong and able to lift, push and pull heavy shit, and of course, should be able to give a fight to a sabre tooth tiger or a horde of crazy psycho monkeys in order to defend his family and his mistress!
Here are 5 reasons why strength training can transform any skinny fat beta male into real men!
1. Strength training is going to help to put back your hormone levels back together.
Most popular diets, and especially the North American diet, blunt testosterone and growth hormone, and even worst they are filled with phytoestrogen. Also, our world is heavily polluted with compounds that act as xenoestrogens. Shampoo, perfume, soap, plastic … its everywhere. Those xeno and phytoestrogens are molecules that mimic the ‘female’ hormone. Moreover, most men have a psychologically stressful lifestyle that doesn’t involve them much physically. Those factors and many more create a hormonal imbalance which basically “feminize” men. The reality is that most men these days suffer from low testosterone and high estrogen levels.
- Decrease in sexual desire
- Hair loss
- Decrease in muscle mass
- Increase in fat mass
- Lack of dominance and drive
- Lack of energy
- Bad sleeping patterns
Those are symptoms of the aforementioned imbalance. The good news is that regular heavy strength training with barbell and dumbbell increases the level of testosterone and growth hormone. When done with high intensity, this kind of training will create an “anabolic window” that will last for days. The body triggers that hormonal change in response to the physical stress in order to adapt.
Those anabolic and androgenic hormones are what make you a man. They will make you stronger, leaner, more dominant and more driven. If you can trigger this anabolic event 2 times a week, you’re giving yourself a great gift.
2. Strength training will teach you how to push your limits
When you commit yourself to strength-training, you must try to increase the weight that you’re pushing or the amount of repetition at all costs. To get the desirable outcome you must push the limit of what your body can handle. At the beginning it will be easy, but your body is going to adapt and you will reach more and more your physical genetic potential. Soon, it’s going to become physically and mentally painful and very challenging to push this physical limit from week to week. Each session will become a battle against yourself. This is probably the best way you can develop the powerful skill of “pushing your own limits”, and this can afterwards be applied to anything in your life.
3. Strength training will teach you discipline and integrity
When you build your body by pushing dumbbells, you are also building your character. Strength training is not a sport; it’s a discipline, a lifestyle and not an easy one. You must kick your own ass to follow your routine week after week. You are not playing in a team. You must impose your own discipline and commit to your own routine if you ever want to have the desired result. If you fail to be disciplined, those plates of steal will teach you a lesson.
The iron never lies!
If you think that getting drunk once in a while is good for health, you will see what those dumbbells have to say about it the next day in the gym. Same thing with the bullshit you are convincing yourself about eating garbage, sleeping only 5 hours a day, smoking dope or any unhealthy habits you might have… You might lie to yourself but your strength training sessions will not lie to you! If you want progress without injury, you better start being honest with yourself!

4. Strength training will increase your self-confidence, bring respect from other men and attract women.
When your body is strong and powerful, your muscles big and hard then you are fit to fight! The perception you have of yourself will follow. Moreover, people respond to someone more openly if they see that that person respects his own body by being strong, lean and hard-wired.
Men will respect you, envy you and fear you. Women will be attracted to you!
Women are programmed to seek strong and dominant men who have the capacity to protect and provide, so they can fulfill their primary objective of giving birth to and raise strong children to propagate their genes.
Men on their side will only follow the stronger, smarter and more dominant men of the group.
Even if physical strength is not so much related to power in today’s society, those “circuits” are still present in the human mind. Strength training allows you to turn this to your advantage. This is especially true in a society where the majority of men are so out of shape, physically weak, fatty or suffer from low testosterone.
5. Strength training will keep your health in check
When you challenge your body near its genetic limits at least 2 or 3 times a week by pushing plates of steel and tracking all of your performances on an excel spreadsheet, it doesn’t take too long for you to figure out when something goes south with your health. Any subtle health problems will affect your performance in the gym. It can allow you to notice, investigate and find the cause of an issue before it becomes a real problem.
Have you changed your diet or adopt a new habit? Want to know if it’s a good change or not? Well, the iron never lies. Remember that you should be able see the impact of your actions in the gym.
Also, because of the hormonal response, this type of training will make your bone denser; it will give some torque to your nerve system and it is your entire body that will reap the benefits from strength training, including your immune system.
